Text Work sample Year 9 – 10 Japanese: Introduction letter

This work sample demonstrates evidence of student learning in relation to aspects of the achievement standards for Year 9 - 10: Introduction letter. The primary purpose for the work sample is to demonstrate the standard, so the focus is on what is evident in the sample not how it was created. The sample is an authentic representation of student work and may contain errors such as spelling mistakes and other inaccuracies. In this work sample students: • initiate and sustain Japanese language to exchange and compare ideas and experiences about their own and others’ personal world • use structures and features of spoken and written Japanese to create texts • use a combination of kana and a range of familiar kanji appropriate to context • demonstrate understanding of the sound system in spoken exchanges and scripts for written texts, and select and use sentence and grammatical structures to interact, make meaning and create texts.
